The Warrior Spirit

It should be noted that when I use the word “spiritual” I am not referring to religion. I am referring to the vision we all have of our best self. The vision of the person we know we could be if we committed 100%, got real about who we are and what kind of impact we want to make during our short time on earth.

One of my favorite quotes is “conquer death and you’ll conquer life.” I interpret this as, by realizing your own mortality you gain a new respect for time, seizing at nothing to accomplish your dreams. Set yourself free of the bondage society has placed on you since birth and dare to live with purpose. Drop the bullshit excuses and start viewing yourself as an artist with life as your canvas.

In his book the “The Four Agreements” Don Miguel Ruiz explains that “the quest of the spiritual warrior is for personal freedom. Personal Freedom means freedom from fear, illusions, and the fear based beliefs in the mind. In essence, it means to win the war over the beliefs in the mind. It is with Personal Freedom that we are free of the human condition of emotional suffering. Spiritual traditions around the world have their own names for this state of awareness including nirvana and heaven. It is a state that is simply described as living your life with unconditional love, gratitude, and respect, for your self, and for others.” –

We have a choice to be victims or to be warriors. Victims believe life happens to them, warriors take full responsibility for everything that happens. Only when you hold yourself accountable can you truly gain mastery of self. You’re in the drivers seat.
